Farhan Aziz
It is a great honor for me to be considered for MCC Nominating Committee again in the year 2025. I had the privilege of serving in the MCC Nominating Committee for the years 2020 – 2022 and had the pleasure of interacting with many esteemed members during the candidate search and elections process. As part of my previous NC tenure, I was honored to serve as the committee chair and helped run two successful MCC elections. I also helped in searching several dedicated and qualified candidates for the Operations BOD and Nominating Committee during those years.
I am an Electrical Engineer, by trade and have a Master’s and a PhD degree from Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, respectively where I also acquired valuable volunteer experience. I currently work as a Wireless Systems Engineer at a high-tech consumer electronics company in San Diego.
I have been part of San Diego Muslim community since 2004, when I joined Qualcomm as an Engineer. I have also been directly connected with MCC since 2017 when we moved in its neighborhood. My wife, Fauzia, previously served as MCC Communications Director for the years 2020 – 2023 and has been an active MCC volunteer for many years. Our kids are also involved in various MCC activities and programs since 2017. MCC is more than a place of worship for us, it is a place where all of us get together for congregational prayers, religious and social lectures and events, weekend school, Science fairs and fun activities. It is also a bridge for us to reach our non-Muslim neighbors and for youth to have fun activities. Alhamdolillah, MCC community is very diverse and generous not only with their money but also with their time and ideas. If elected as a member of MCC Nomination Committee in 2025, I hope to live up to the trust that community bestowed upon me with the same zeal as in the past and hope to nominate those brothers and sisters for the BOD and NC who are connected with the masjid, have a desire to serve the community purely for the sake of Allah and have a vision for community future.

Professionally, I have been in tech for 15 years as an engineer. I have BS and MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
With this position, I wish to give back to the community by helping to identify passionate leaders who will continue MCC’s mission and growth.

Sana Jilani
