The goal is to foster an American Muslim identity, deeply rooted in the principles of Islam, while actively participating in and contributing to American society. This entails establishing Islamic institutions that can engage with and support other communities, both locally and globally. Additionally, it involves laying a strong Islamic foundation to be inherited by future generations of American Muslims.

MCC: A Tale Unveiled
The Greater San Diego Muslim Community Center (GSDMCC), established as a Nonprofit Religious Organization in 2001, initially operated in Rancho Penasquitos, offering prayer services and weekend Islamic School. As the community grew, large events like Ramadan Iftar were hosted in various school auditoriums and parks due to limited space. In May 2005, the GSDMCC Foundation was formed to acquire land for a permanent center. Relocating to Rancho Bernardo, GSDMCC continued its operations while securing a 6-acre site in Santa Luz for a new center.

By 2005, the land was purchased, and with financing from Devon Bank, construction of a 10,000-square-foot Shariah-compliant center began, culminating in its Grand Opening in 2010. Over the years, the facility expanded to include a basketball court (2012) and soccer field (2014), with a 43KW Solar PV System installed in 2018 for energy efficiency.
